Workin' weeekends

It has been a very busy week so far. Sunday we had some people from Digipen (https://www.digipen.edu/) in our office to test out the game. Apparently they liked it because they came back Monday and Tuesday to play more. Monday and Tuesday we had press in the office conducting interviews and checking out the game. Hopefully this means there will be a lot more information available about the game here soon. I can't wait to read the previews.

We have had a multiplayer area set up in the office since Sunday and there have been some epic matches. I even got to see Chris lose to the AI. It was awesome. The game is really coming together. Bug counts are dropping quickly as most of us get to the smaller bugs on our lists. Some of these bugs really make you wonder how in the world someone managed to find them.

I am getting really excited to this this game completed. I spent two and a half years trying to get this job and soon I will have my name on my first shipped game. I can hardly believe it.

That is awesome and congratulations. I also look forward to the forthcoming previews.

Do you think supcom 2 will replace FA or exist a long side it?

Sorian said... / January 13, 2010 at 11:38 PM

It will replace it for me.

what i wonder and maybe you can answer it: Some of the sreenshots previously were revealed really look crappy. Some of them have low textures, others seem to have no aa and the sea looks horrible. It doesnt look like the graphics are in anyway better than in FA, it rather looks like some things like the sea and textures are worse now.
Is this because of the low settings the screens were taken with? Or is still being worked on the graphics?

Congrats on your first game Sorian and for making an AI that beat Chris. Maybe he should read _PINK's tutorial... xD

@Christian, SupCom always looked a lot better in motion then in screenshots, and its probably the same for SupCom 2.

Good luck fixing all those nasty bugs, I can however assure you that my bro and I'll will find the most strange bugs once the game is in our hands :P

#Christian: Probably settings. If I recall we could not change the graphic settings in-game back when those were taken.

Congratulations on getting your name on your first shipped game.

I can't wait for the previews either! This is going to be awesome!

Can I ask who were the press who interviewed you? PCGamer? IGN? Gamespot?

Sorian said... / January 14, 2010 at 9:59 AM

I know Gamespot was there. Not sure about the other 10. Square Enix was awesome btw. Kudos to them.

Sorian, I just loaded up your AI mods for SupCom and FA before I connected the dots and realized you made them. My friends and I have enjoyed the changes you made to FA and VanillaSC, and look forward to what's in store for SupCom2.

I hope you guys have time to crunch all the bugs! It'd suck if you guys had to start work on a 0Day patch. :(

Mostly I hope you all get a chance to party. Invite Gabe Newell over, ask him to bring the Launch Button. You guys deserve a break before fan wank about balance busts out (more than it already has pre-release).

Congrats Sorian, being strongly involved in a game like Supcom 2 as a very first project in your developer life is something you must be very proud of. Again, Congrats :-)

It can't be said enough: Congrats Sorian. It is well deserved that you got this job.

Col Jessep's comment made me go lol :)

Congrats Sorian,

indeed your first game is about to get shipped! :)

But I doubt that Chris is a good player anyway. :)
