One year down

August 31st was my 1 year anniversary date with Gas Powered Games. My how the time has flown. This time last year I was working mostly in Lua wiring up the two new characters for Demigod. A couple of weeks after that I was learning C++. Now, a year later, I am spending most of my time in C++. This whole situation still has a dream-like quality to it. I still can't really believe I am here.

Patch 1.20 went out last week, finally. If you haven't seen the patch notes, you can find them here: http://www.supremecommander2.com/na/blog/2010/08/30/supreme-commander-2-patch-notes-v1-20/. A lot of changes went into this patch. I think my favorite change has to be the new AI options menu. Being able to custom tailor an AI like that is awesome and should be a standard feature for any game that features a skirmish mode.

Work still has not stopped on Supreme Commander 2. In fact, there was a video released yesterday that showed off a few things that will be included with the upcoming DLC pack. In addition we are working on fixing the bugs that have been brought up after the latest patch as well as work on other super secret stuff that I am sure you will all enjoy.

More videos to come, more cool patches on the way, and the epic return of the Monkeylord is drawing nearer. It is a good time to be a SupCom fan.

nice text from you sorian, i feel happy for you.

i want to say, that the AL in supcom 2, is the best AL i ever seen, and i think no other RTS will reach you in things of AL Power.
Howewer, i wait for the DLC units (i allready know all units that come)
and i hope that this will not be the last DLC Kontent with new units.
More Units Please :) they all are great.
and i see, all new Experimental Units are Very Strong, thats nice, we need more Fear Experimentals like Supcom 1.

i was specualting about a Supreme Commander 2 Addon in 2011. is it possible ?
i hope for a 4rth Fraction then.

First of all, congrats! For surviving your 1st year at GPG and you awesome work. The AI is really cool, I must admit. :)

I really cannot wait for the DLC like everyone else, but you are a tease. You are working on more super secret stuff? WTF?

Hey, just wondering if you could give us any info on the DLC. How will match-making be post-DLC? And will the DLC cost anything? I know it doesn't matter to me personally, but I still know of many people who would refuse to pay for DLC.

Congrats. The AI is far superior to anything I've experienced. You've given the game staying power. I look forward to supporting GPG and enjoying the DLC.

Hi Sorian! If you ever get to make any more changes to the AI, I hope you will consider making an "Swarm" type AI or something.

Basically the AI will not try to be too clever, instead it will just balance its resources between spreading itself all over the map and sending increasingly higher level units directly at your base, plus nukes and LR arty etc.

For people who like to play RTS skirmish as a shoot-em-up :)

are you aware of the ai errors that are occurring with the ground units not attacking and just clustering in the hundreds? see steam forum if you are not aware.

Sorian, do you know when the bugfix patch for the AI dance problems is going to be released?

It is somewhat annoying playing defensively against the AI now, it never actually attacks :)

Sorian, are you a human or some kind of AI in a robot sent from the future to prepare us for battle against you in the year 2537½? Your AI is the only AI that I cant fight over and over again then find a simple way to defeat, in fact I cant even fight it on the higher settings.

Relatively off-topic questions Sorian but would the map World Domination be able to be created for SupCom2?
Your work on the SupCom2 Ai is great yet again and I love how GPG has finally balanced Mass Conversion a bit more, that was the bane of my life

Hey Sorian! I just thought of something. In Supcom:FA, you could hit Ctrl+N and name units. Would it be possible to bring that back for Supcom 2? I also noticed in the video that volatility might be back?

a question

will there be an balance fix for anti air units & towers ?

the anti air is still to weak.
i play very often play online, and the most games end with a air experimental spammer that owns everything. like Cruisers or Airnomo,s or towers or AA Ground Units.
